Textile pigment printing, is it important for water based pigment paste variety selection?

Last July, one of our clients from Shaoxing city reflected one problem on textile printing with water based pigment paste. It was that pattern color had changed after treatment of hydrosulfite.

[CAISON[ technical services knew the variety of pigment paste client used, it was CTH-1110/CTH-1180/CTH-3040 mixed colors, the adding amount was about 0.2%. In fact, there was no problem in this three type pigment color paste for textile printing, the key point was that the client used sodium hydrosulfite to make after-treatment when finished the pigment printing. Sodium hydrosulfite is a strong reducing agent, CTH-1110 and CTH-1180 pigment pastes were normal type red pigment color paste, chemical migration resistance and discharge (reduction) resistance is poor, and leaded to color changing of fabric printing. And this kind of color changing was difficult to be restoration.

So we strongly recommended: Before using water based pigment paste products, please read carefully [CAISON] water based pigment paste color swatch brochures. The pigment paste variety is very rich on swatch, different performance, the client should select suitable pigment paste types according to their own processing conditions. 2015 Chinese total output and import & export quantity of organic pigment as main materials of water based pigment paste, Concentrated analysis of the future development of water-based pigment paste

According to the statistical analysis of the work report from 2016 Shanghai Coatings Industry Association Annual Meeting, talked by Mr. Yuande Yang who is the Secretary-General of China Dyestuff Industry Association.
2015, organic pigment that is main material of water based pigment paste (organic pigments of various colors totals), Chinese production is 228000 tons;
2015, organic pigment that is main material of water based pigment paste (organic pigments of various colors totals), Chinese exports is 142000 tons;
2015, organic pigment that is main material of water based pigment paste (organic pigments of various colors totals), Chinese imports is 17000tons;
We can know  it from the above data, organic pigment materials of water based pigment paste have been consumed about 103000tons total in 2015.

Organic pigments important application areas: ink, pigment paste (water based and  oil based), plastic masterbatch. The 103000tons consumed in 2015 was used by these three areas.

2015 China imported pigment paste important raw organic pigments 17,000 tons, six major importing countries and regions are:
1, South Korea (about 17.5%)
2, India (approximately 17.2%)
3, Taiwan (approximately 15.2%)
4, Germany (14.6%)
5, Japan (13.6%)
6, United States (about 11.8%)

The near 90% total importing amount of main material organic pigment is from these six major importing countries and regions in 2015.

The average import unit price is about USD15.63/Kg in Chinese importing main material organic pigment of pigment paste in 2015.

2015, China exports pigment paste important raw organic pigment 142,000 tons, six major exporting countries and regions are:
1, United States (about 26.7%)
2, Netherlands (15.4%)
3, Germany (14.1%)
4, Indonesia (7.3%)

The near 77.2% total exporting amount of main material organic pigment to these six major importing countries and regions in 2015.

The average export unit price is about USD8.13/Kg in 2015.
It can be seen:  organic pigment as pigment paste main material is imported less, concentration of importing of organic pigment as pigment paste main material is higher, the importing unit price of organic pigment as pigment paste main material is higher.

These three points will severely restrict the development of Chinese  water based pigment paste to a higher quality!

GB18401《国家纺织品基本安全技术规范》是从2006年1月1日起强制执行的纺织产品基本安全的国家标准，该规范涉及由天然纤维或化学纤维的服装和装饰用纺织品，目的是保证纺织品对人体健康无害的最基本要求。包括甲醛含量、色牢度（耐水洗、耐汗渍、耐干湿摩擦、耐唾液）禁用芳香胺的限量标准等

水性色浆，用于纺织品染色，被称为涂料印花色浆或涂料染色色浆，这个水性色浆的另一种称呼，在纺织行业，是为了区别于染料染色！涂料染色与染料染色，是两种完全不同的染色工艺，染料是以分子形式先溶解在水中，然后和纺织品纤维发生化学反应，从而染色成功。涂料染色是水性色浆中的颜料颗粒，使用粘合剂，粘附在纺织品纤维上，涂料染色是比染料染色更环保的染色方式。

影响着色材料着色能力的五大因素 影响水性色浆作为重要着色材料的着色能力的五大因素

着色能力是着色材料最重要的性能，不同的着色材料，着色能力是完全不同的。

即便是同一类着色材料，如水性色浆，作为水性着色材料，不同企业生产的水性色浆，即便是相同的原料相同的颜料牌号，由于添加量的不同，生产工艺不同，导致不同厂家生产的水性色浆，相同的颜料号，用户在使用水性色浆时会发现，水性色浆的着色能力是完全不同的。其他着色材料也会出现这样的现象，如色母粒，染料，等等影响着色能力的因素很多，以下总结五大因素：

一、着色材料本身的化学结构，如无机化合物代表性的氧化铁，大量的有机染色化合物.如：水性色浆的大部分原料：有机颜料等等；

二、着色材料被生成时的原始状态，是影响着色能力的重要因素。

如：水性色浆，就是分散时的颗粒细度，分散颗粒的粒径分布是否集中在更窄的范围，都影响水性色浆的着色能力。其他着色材料也是一样如此，技术水平生产工艺设备条件都是影响着色材料着色能力的重要影响因素。

三、着色材料被在什么应用体系，性能会完全不同

如水性色浆是别应用在水性体系里，着色能力很高，但被用于油性体系，则着色能力很差；又如水性色浆阳离子离子体系，只能使用阳离子体系的粘合剂体系，当使用非离子水性色浆，着色能力就低。

四、着色材料被应用过程中是否出现特殊工艺条件，这也是影响着着色材料是着色能力。如：水性色浆，不同品种，适用的不同的应用条件，需要180度压烫着色，也或需要200度烤干着色，或则常温干燥，但需要耐腐蚀条件，用户如果选用错误的水性色浆，就会出现水性色浆着色力下降的现象。其他着色材料也是如此，用户要选用适合条件的着色材料。

五、着色材料被生产制造过程是否完美展现着色材料性能。这个是指被着色材料的生产者，在进行的生产过中，对应细分的着色材料应用的市场，充分考虑颜色的着色性能。如：水性色浆白色浆，在一些应用体系中，需要展现透明的白色，而在另一些体系中，就需要遮盖性涂布能力极好的白色浆，这个展色性能，就是着色材料特有的性能。

上海【彩生】水性色浆研发部门在紧张的一周工作后，开始一个五一小长假。


在刚刚过去的一周，【彩生】水性色浆研发部门完成了两项重要的水性色浆小样试制，并按工作计划寄送三个颜色的水性色浆样品：


1、类水性色浆塑料着色色浆进展，本周继续完成红色PR48的颜色试制和黄色混合小样的试制，黄色类水性色浆塑料着色色浆的研发遇到瓶颈，已完成送样5次，目前由于分散过于优异，颜色的B值一直超越目标样品！

有时实验复样，要制作的比目标差，也是难题！


2、有一个新的色浆已完成送样，新的色浆是彩生和其他二家企业合作研制的新一代特别功能的色浆，目的是替代目前的色母粒工艺，优异的展色性能，将会颠覆传统的色母粒行业，这个水性色浆产品的研发处于试验阶段！
