Textile pigment printing, is it important for water based pigment paste variety selection?

Last July, one of our clients from Shaoxing city reflected one problem on textile printing with water based pigment paste. It was that pattern color had changed after treatment of hydrosulfite.

[CAISON[ technical services knew the variety of pigment paste client used, it was CTH-1110/CTH-1180/CTH-3040 mixed colors, the adding amount was about 0.2%. In fact, there was no problem in this three type pigment color paste for textile printing, the key point was that the client used sodium hydrosulfite to make after-treatment when finished the pigment printing. Sodium hydrosulfite is a strong reducing agent, CTH-1110 and CTH-1180 pigment pastes were normal type red pigment color paste, chemical migration resistance and discharge (reduction) resistance is poor, and leaded to color changing of fabric printing. And this kind of color changing was difficult to be restoration.

So we strongly recommended: Before using water based pigment paste products, please read carefully [CAISON] water based pigment paste color swatch brochures. The pigment paste variety is very rich on swatch, different performance, the client should select suitable pigment paste types according to their own processing conditions. If having time and condition, suggest clients to consult CAISON technical services, and apply for sample to make testing before mass producing, to avoid quality accident because of improper selection.
