The difference between water based pigment paste and aqueous color concentrates

Many clients called and asked us whether we could provide aqueous color concentrates products for coloring, and we Shanghai Caison Color Material Chem. Co.,Ltd. is professional manufacturer of water based pigment paste. The main materials of water-based pigment color paste are granular pigments, and these pigment particles are uniformly and stably dispersed in the water by physical grinding and dispersion processes. The pigment content is generally between 30% to 45%. It looks like the mud, so it is commonly known as water-based pigment paste or water-based pigment dispersion. 

However, aqueous color concentrates always are one kind of dyestuffs that is dissolved by solvents, they have good compatibility with a variety of resin. Color concentrates is also called water-soluble metal complex dyes, and some of them is known as oil-soluble metal complex dyes. For the application market, water based pigment paste and aqueous color concentrates are all super concentrated pre-dispersion color products for coloring or tinting.

Water-based pigment dispersion and aqueous color concentrates can be used for  furniture industry, the paint industry, crafts coloring and other purposes, but each has its own strengths; for furniture, pigment paste can be used for water-based wood paint tinting , but water based color concentrates with better transparency is better for furniture. Because furniture dyeing needs multiple coating, paint with transparent color is necessary, It is higher requirement for paint color to show wood texture, especially the primer coating. So aqueous color concentrates is more suitable for wood furniture coloring!

From the security point of view, water based pigment paste products have strict limited requirement of harmful substances,such as heavy metals, aromatic amine ,formaldehyde and etc. All aqueous pigment color pastes of Shanghai Caison are in line with EU REACH Standard. However, because of metal complex structure in water-based color concentrates , it is difficult to ensure the safety when human body contacts them directly.
