Color detector is one kind of instrument to detect the color hue.

All water based pigment dispersion factories and laboratorise with a certain szie must be euipped with color detector. Color detector has two parts: hardware part and software equipment part. It also can be divided into fixed type and movable type.

Water based pigment dispersion testing is that it is going to test the pigment dispersion which is printed on the application materials, and compared with the target water-based pigment dispersion with certain pigment dispersion formulation. We use color detector take the data from three points on this material, then the color detector will read the relative values of A,B,C,L in the corresponding yellow area, red area, blue area and green area. Factors to affect the high temperature resistance of fabric printing pigment paste

Most of clients would ask for some question about pigment paste performances when they are going to buy some water based pigment paste,  and some of these questions are about the high temperature resistance, what is high temperature pigment paste can bear?

In fact, high temperature resistance of pigment paste is affected by three key factors:

1. Pigment paste temperature resistance is closely related with pigments performance. Heterocyclic class of senior organic pigments has better temperature resistance. So you should check the pigment materials of pigment paste before purchasing.

2. The using amount of pigment paste will affect its temperature resistance in the coloring process. The more pigment paste adding amount, the better temperature performance.

3. Application or methods of pigment paste also affect its temperature resistant.  When water based pigment paste is used for textile screen printing and needed high temperature pressing, 150 ℃ pressing process is relatively common, but some special screen printing process of pigment paste would be at 180 ℃,  200 ℃, even 220 ℃.

According to the market demand of pigment paste, Shanghai Caison recommends CTH series high-temperature fastness pigment paste as following:

Red pigment paste: CTH-1001、 CTH-1002、 CTH-1007;

Yellow pigment paste: CTH-2001、 CTH-2004、 CTH-2005;

The function of water in pigment paste

Water is an important position in water-based pigment paste, it almostly laies that water-based pigment paste is one kind of environmentally friendly coloring materials. Then let's have a look at its four points of function as following:

Firstly, Water is a solvent, one kind of polar solvent. Water surface tension is large, its solubility parameter is 24.3, is a high solubility. In the water based pigment paste formulation, water can be used as a primary solvent, also as a co-solvent or a diluent. The role of water is helping emulsifier and dispersant to cover and connect the pigment particles of water based pigment paste.

Secondly, the cost of water is much lower than organic solvents. To get water resources is more convenient than the solvent from extraction of oil. Lower cost water is good for controlling the cost of water based pigment paste.

Thirdly, water is the guarantee of environmental protection, its volatiles are water vapor and no harm to the human body, is also no pullution to the environment, and can not iproduce VOC.

Fourthly, water is safe envoy, is not incombustible, and water evaporation temperature is 100 degrees Celsius; so that whether it is paint transport, storage and construction are not present security risks of combustion explosion!

With the requirement of safe and low cost of pigment printing and eco-friendly dyeing, The technical personnel develops one kind of coloring material which uses water as main dispersion medium, it is water-based pigment paste. The water used in Caison pigment paste is the deionized water after special treatment. The deionized water is required to be clean and no mechanical impurities. Deionized water has no bacterial micro-organisms, to ensure the quality stability of Caison water-based color paste in the paint coloring products.

水性色浆成衣染色（又称成衣涂料染色）具有节约染化料，节能，节水，工艺简单，适合各种纤维的纺织品，重现性好，正品率高等优点，越来越受纺织印染市场的欢迎。

水性色浆涂料染色所以受到重视，是因为和染料相比，具有以下的优点：
1.由于颜料颗粒对任何纤维都没亲和力，染色时不发生上染的问题，对各种纤维不存在选择性，故适用于各种纤维，包括染料无法染色的玻璃纤维染色，而且特别适合混纺和交织纺织物的染色。
2.基于上述相同原因，颜料拼色时不存在竞染问题，易于拼色，重演性好，小样放大样控制颜色容易。
3．由于可同时选用各种不同发色体系的颜料，所以涂料染色色谱齐全，耐光、耐气候牢度好。而不象染料染色时，由于一类染料的色谱或颜色牢度性质往往不齐全或不平衡，选用时会有困难。
4．容易获得特殊的染色或其他工艺效果，例如双面染色、本色或银色染色、涂料和染料或后整理剂同时加工等。
5．加工工序短，节省能源、减少污水，降低成本。
成衣涂料染色,主要用于牛仔服装、衬衫、休闲服、沙滩裤、灯芯绒服装、全棉或绢棉、麻棉短袖，文化衫、麻棉服装等。

相比染料染色，水性色浆成衣染色的时间只有染料的1/3，大大缩短了工艺流程，且用水量少，减少了污染排放。同时具有非常明显的水洗感觉, 再经纤维素酶加工后, 其衣服表面发白、陈旧感等区别于染料染色的效果就更加明显, 而纤维空隙间则保持原有染色效果, 给人层次分明的立体效果, 既有牛仔的风格, 又以其色彩多样化而优于牛仔, 更是染料染色所无法比拟的。

成衣染色以其小批量、多品种、适应变化多端的市场需求, 而日益为人们所重视。将涂料染色与成衣染色结合起来, 是提高成衣档次, 增加附加值的有效途径, 具有很好的开发应用前景。
水性色浆由颗粒细腻的颜料、乳化剂、保湿剂和水组成。

成衣涂料染色设备：
工业洗衣机或滚筒式成衣染色机，成衣烘干机。

环保水性色浆涂料染色及配套助剂的使用方法:
1．轧染法：涂料染色阳离子改性剂 二浸二轧---烘干；
           涂料染色水性色浆2-5g/L 二浸二轧---烘干；
2. 浸染法（涂料成衣染色）：涂料染色阳离子改性剂 3-5%（占织物重）70度/20分钟—水洗—涂料水性色浆（浅色2-6%，深色3-8%）+涂料染色用粘合剂3-5%（占织物重）60度/20分钟---水洗---烘干。


成衣涂料染色中注意事项：
5.1成衣染色改性时可用3%NaOH调节染浴pH为9-9.5，经改性处理后一定要充分水洗呈中性。若水洗不充分，当涂料一加入就立即被残留在水溶液中的增深剂吸附而凝聚，使涂料的利用率大大降低，一般要降低20％～30％。涂料没有充分利用，染深性明显下降。
5.2 化料及水硬度要求涂料化料时，必须高速搅拌分散，溶解完全后倒入染机中。若染色用水硬度超过150mg／L，水中的钙镁离子和涂料凝聚，因此需加入0．5～1．0g/L 螯合分散剂，有利于涂料的利用和提高染色鲜艳度。对较厚较紧密的布料可在染色时加渗透剂（如JFC）1-2g/L，增加染色渗透力，提高均匀性。
5.3 染色温度染色温度应控制在60～70℃，温度太高对某些不耐高温的涂料影响上色率，并引起色变。染色时，冷水入染逐渐升温，升温速度为2～3~C／min，升温太快，上染速度很快，极易染花。
5.4 染色时间纤维上活性基团是有限的，当增深达到一定的饱和程度，即使改变染色条件(温度和时间)，涂料并不能再吸附，因此一般20min已足够，深色产品可延长到30 min。染色结束后用冷水清洗，洗除未被吸附的涂料，然后进行固色。
5.5 染色的浴比浸染法中成衣染色一定要大浴比，一般掌握在1：25～1：30，浴比太低，成衣在染浴中翻滚不均匀，增加与机械的摩擦力，极易造成白条、褶皱及色花。
5.6 水性色浆的选用一定要选用粒子小、粒径均匀、环保的色浆。
5.7 固色剂的选择和应用：粘合剂的品种很多，牢度和手感参差不齐，要根据要求和打样效果来选择。固色后根据需要还可以做柔软、酶洗等多种后整理工艺。

5.8 成衣涂料染色工艺
成衣涂料染色工艺应根据成衣织物的规格、纤维类别、厚重、收缩性能、缝线、衬头、商标、辅件(花边、纽扣、拉链)而定。不同纤维因吸湿性不同也会染出不同深浅的色泽。染色浴比控制在1：25～1：30，浴比越大，越不会造成色花和色差。

水性色浆成衣涂料染色的特点：
1.成衣涂料染色立体感强，风格独特，染料染色不可代替；
2.不必在染色后再经过水洗即可有水洗“仿旧”效果，最适宜染制休闲服装；
3.当对坯布成衣进行染色时，可以不必进行NaOH煮练而用酶洗替代，从而将无碱煮练和酶洗工艺同时完成；
4.水性色浆染色仿色方便，调整色光也容易，因为涂料颜色是“所见即所得”；
5.涂料染色操作方便，重现性好；色色谱齐全；适宜染制中、浅色。

Introduction of aqueous binder for water based pigment paste of textile screen printing

When we use water based pigment paste for textile screen printing, the matched adhesive is necessary. The role of adhesive is adhesion between water based pigment paste and textile fibers. To reach higher quality of pigment printing effect, we have to use adhesive, and make it form a soft and thin film of resin, colorless, non-stick, firmly attached to the textile fibers, good sunlight fastness and dry washing resitance, no rough hand feeling.

During the drying process of textile pigment paste printing, the adhesive will take pigment paste to form a thin film. In the first step of drying process, the dispersant and emulsifier within water and printing paste would be evaporated to form a gel layer, and this layer adheres to textile fiber by the form of loose. In the second step of fixing color processm, adhesive would cause cross-linking reaction on the textile fibers under the acidic conditions (pH <4).

If we want to use synthetic thickener, there is no need to additional put acidic medium in the pigment paste for textile printing.Because the neutral thickener will return to acidic conditions during fixation.

Currently, during the textile printing with water based pigment paste, the adhesives we used are mainly following three types:
 1. Acrylic adhesive;
 2. Butadiene-based adhesive;
 3. Nitrile adhesive;

Acrylic adhesive:
The acrylic adhesive is mainly composed by acrylic ester and an ethylene copolymer. These adhesives can ensure the good color fastness performance of pigment paste for textile printing. It is suitable hand feeling, but there is some limitation of  color fastness in drying washing.
Most of adhesives in the market is in this category, has been used for over 30 years. In the minds of textile printing workers, acrylic adhesive is still better in fastness and fiber hand feeling.


Butadiene-based adhesive:
This kind of adhesive can provide more soft hand feeling when using it with water based pigment paste for textile printing. But the printed fabrics become tacky in some of cases; although the overall color fastness is very good, however, durability is limited, the color is yellowing after a certain period time. Because of this negative impact on textile printing, it is rarely used in practice.

Nitrile adhesive:
This kind of adhesive can provide soft feeling on textiles after pigment paste printing, it is a product which is combined with acrylonitrile products, has good fastness in wet rubbing, washing, dry washing and etc.
Nitrile adhesive can not only used for cotton fabric fibers, but also used for silk fiber, synthetic fibers and blended fabrics, such as pure nylon fibers, pure polyester fibers and  fabric fibers blended with cotton or viscose. And accrylic adhesive is difficult used for these fibers pigment paste printing.

Nitrile adhesive also has some other advantages, the textile that is printed and worked by water based pigment paste and nitrile adhesive has suitable water absorption, this performance is very important to the chemical finishing, such as  waterproof, anti-fouling, flame retardant and so on.
When we need to increase the adding amount of nitrile-based adhesive to improve the color fastness, it will not affect the textile hand feeling likes acrylic adhesive, it also doesn't affect fabric's nap effect( Such as corduroy, jeanette and towel fabrics, etc.), to maintain the natural effect of the fabric itself.

涂料印花色浆的对水性色浆的要求：

1、水性色浆能和印花涂料的其他原料混合均匀，不发生发涨凝聚、无块状物等现象！

2、水性色浆必须无杂质、色浆没有大颗粒颜料粒子、水性色浆的颗粒细度应该平均在5微米以下；

3、水性色浆需要具有一定的润湿性、粘着力和内聚力；

4、水性色浆需要具有一定的流动性；

5、水性色浆需要具有高的着色力，确保颜色能上染到纺织物上，能用最少的水性色浆用量给色量给多；

6、水性色浆要保证纺织物印花的均匀性和适当的渗透性；

7、水性色浆必须要系统稳定性好，不能自身发生溶胀、沉淀、变色等；

8、水性色浆的颜色应该非常鲜艳、纯净。

The new version of pigment paste quotation issued|adding description of the pigment content

From this October, we will make better description in water based pigment paste quotation list. Just before, only product items, specifications and prices are listed in the quotation, no other more details about pigment content in each item.
So Shanghai Caison will plan to modify the quotation list by adding effective pigment contents. You know it is improtant.

Super concentrated water based pigment paste, is just pigment paste with higher pigment content. The more pigment contented in pigment paste, the less adding pigment paste amount used by clients, and the less affect on the coating system or coloring system. 
For example, one drop of Caison pigment paste can change one bucket of white paint,but doesn't affect its paint viscosity. User still can use it on the wall area original planed. But if you use pigment paste with lower price and lower pigment contented, you maybe need to add one a spoon or a small cup to coloring one bucket paint, however, the paint viscosity will be changed, and increases the using risk.

In many cases, some customers only knows the solids content in pigment paste, and those pigment paste suppliers will show you their higher solid content. 
But please know that：pigment content ≠ solid content. They are different meaning, pigment content is the value of water-based pigment paste!
Solid content of pigment paste is the sum of the solid components in the water-based color paste! It is solid components in pigment paste,but can't explain the effective pigment contents in pigment paste.

What are the technical parameters of water based pigment dispersion?

As a water-based pigment dispersion user, how to choose suitable pigment dispersion products? 

Firstly, the working system compatibility is the first to be confirmed. Water based pigment dispersion is suitable for using in water based resin system, different pigment dispersions must be match with compatible water based working systems.

One simple compatible testing of pigment dispersion and water based resin system: put about water based pigment dispersion by 1% amount into water based resin system. After several mintues stirring, if mixed liquid is uniformly distributed, no bigger particles appear and no layered, and still no abnormal after storing for 24hours, we can judge they are good compatible. If particle aggregation and uneven happened, we can know they are bad compatible. For example, Caison NL series water based pigment dispersion is suitable for water-based acrylic resin system and aqueous epoxy resin bicomponent system, but Caison CTH series pigment dispersion is not good for this water based epoxy resin system.

Secondly, pigment dispersion technical parameters must be considered. Such as PH value, pigment content, solid content, brightness, high temperature resistance, sunlight fastness, acid & alkali resistant, weather fastness, migration resistant and so on.  The PH value of pigment dispersion will be decided by pigment paste formulation system, and pigment dispersion PH value will affect the operation effect.So we should be pay attention to the pigment dispersion PH value during the using process. Thirdly, it is the safe indicators of water based pigment dispersion. When customers choose water based pigment dispersion to coloring or tinting some materials, and final products produced by these colored matrerials should be required to conform to industrial product safe standards, such as formaldehyde content control, heavy metals content control, aromatic amine content control and plasticizer content control. These safe performance data must be learned clearly before choosing suitable pigment dispersion.

水性色浆纺织涂料印花粘合剂简介

纺织物在使用水性色浆进行涂料印花时，必须使用粘合剂，粘合剂的作用是将水性色浆涂料与纺织物纤维之间的粘结，为达到纺织物高质量的水性色浆涂料印花效果，需要使用粘合剂，其在使用过程中形成一个柔软的树脂薄层，无色，不黏，牢固附着于纺织物纤维，日晒性能好，耐干洗且不会产生太粗糙的手感。
在纺织物水性色浆涂料印花后的干燥过程中，粘合剂携带水性色浆涂料色浆而形成薄膜。烘干的第一道工序中，水及印花糊料中分散剂和乳化剂蒸发，形成一个凝胶层，凝胶层成膜且松散的黏附在纺织物纤维上。第二道固色工序中，粘合剂在酸性（PH值＜4）条件下在纺织物纤维上发生交联反应。

如果使用合成增稠剂，纺织物水性色浆印花色浆中不需要额外添加酸性介质，因为在固色期间，中性增稠剂会恢复到酸性条件。

在当前的纺织物水性色浆涂料印花中，使用的粘合剂有三种类型：
1.丙烯酸类粘合剂
2.丁二烯类粘合剂
3.腈类粘合剂

丙烯酸粘合剂
丙烯酸类粘合剂主要由丙烯酸酯和乙烯共聚物相结合而成。这些粘合剂能够保证纺织物水性色浆涂料印花在纺织物纤维上有较好的色牢度性能，合适的手感，但在干洗中色牢度有一定的局限。
市场上现用的大多数属于这一类，已经使用了30多年。在印花工作者的心目中，印花织物的手感，牢度方面还是使用丙烯酸类粘合剂更好。

丁二烯类粘合剂
这种粘合剂通常能够赋予纺织物水性色浆涂料印花在纺织物纤维上柔软的手感，但是，在有些情况下，印花织物会发粘。虽然总体色牢度性能非常好，然而，耐久性有限，经过一段时间后颜色泛黄，影响浅色色泽，由于丁二烯类粘合剂的这种负面特点，实际中很少应用。

腈类粘合剂
这类粘合剂可以提供纺织物水性色浆涂料印花在纺织物纤维上柔软的手感，与丙烯腈结合的产物，在干湿摩，水洗，干洗等方面有非常好的牢度。
腈类柔软粘合用于水性色浆涂料印花不仅可以用在纯棉织物纤维上，也可以用在丝纤维，合成纤维及混纺织物上，如纯尼龙纤维，纯涤纶纤维以及它们与棉或粘胶的混纺织物纤维，对于这些织物纤维很难采用丙烯酸类粘合剂去印花。
腈类粘合剂还具有其他的一些优势，经过这种粘合剂水性色浆涂料印花后的织物有合适的吸水性能，这种性能对如防水，防污，阻燃等化学整理显得非常重要。
当为了追求更好的色牢度而提高腈类粘合剂用量时，不会象丙烯酸类粘合剂那样影响织物的手感。腈类粘合剂也不会象丙烯酸类粘合剂那样影响织物的绒毛效果（如灯芯绒，桃皮绒和毛巾织物等），保持织物本身的自然效果。

The competition of pigment paste industry has already been a fierce state, so many pigment paste factories begin to reduce the pigment paste quality in order to meet the demand of low-costs for some customers, they have decreased the pigment paste prices by the ways of reducing pigment content in pigment paste, and choosing lower cost pigment paste materials.
